T'was the season

The year 2011 was definitely a crazy year for this Lefler duo.  We were married in May.  Ian left for basic training at the end of June and I moved back home with my family.  Two months later I flew to Texas to be with him at graduation, only to move to Mississippi a short week later to be near him while he was attending tech school.

After four months of the beach and Cajun food Ian graduated his technical training and we made the long drive back to Utah for the holidays!

It was a crazy two weeks full of family reunion, friends, holiday festivities and preparing to move across country.  Ian was grateful for some down time and we enjoyed visiting with those we had missed.  We were able to visit my brother Zac which was probably the biggest blessing I could ask for.

It was great to see some snow while we were there!

We celebrated Ian's birthday on Dec. 24th.  My parents took the whole family out to breakfast and we later enjoyed a get together with lots of cake and presents!

Ian got some short western books (which he loved,) Angry Bird pj's, Legos, and a helicopter.  What more could a man ask for?

Cody, Ashlee, Ian and I were able to visit Grandma and Grandpa Curtis and Aunt Andrea to help put up Christmas decorations.  We were grateful for the chance to help because we didn't have decorations of our own this year!  We had a lot of fun.

Helping mom with Christmas cookies, a shooting trip with Cody, and snowfall.

On one of our down days Ian and I picked up my nephew Alex from his daycare so we could visit. That little reunion will be one that I never forget!  That little four year old boy literally ran to me, threw his arms around my neck and said "I missed you Naynee."  This is the rainbow that he drew for me and his Mommy.  He said if I keep it and look at it I will be happy.  He was right!  Spending the afternoon with Alex made us miss our nieces even more!  We couldn't wait to get to Pittsburgh to see them.

Ian and I both agreed that Christmas 2011 was probably the best Christmas either of us have ever had.
So far :)
